BURNET – A traffic stop in a known drug area in Burnet led officers to three arrests and the seizure of narcotics and paraphernalia.
The traffic stop took place on July 30 at approximately 11:45 p.m. when a Burnet Police Officer stopped an SUV for a minor traffic infraction.
Two out of the three individuals inside the vehicle were said by BPD to be known drug users.
As a safety precaution, a weapons-only pat-down of the wingspan area was performed on the three individuals which resulted in the discovery of drugs on their person, according to BPD.
In total, the Burnet Police Department reported to finding ~34.7g of methamphetamine weighing approximately 8g, ~89.3g of codeine w/ promethazine, a quantity of marijuana, and numerous pipes, scales, baggies, straws, and other paraphernalia items were seized during the traffic stop.
All three individuals were arrested and charged with Manufacture/Delivery Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 >=4g<200g (Felony 1), Possession Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3 >=28g<200g (Felony 3), and Possession of Marijuana <2oz (Class B Misdemeanor).
