Police involved in a standoff with a man accused of shooting woman on San Antonio’s West Side

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department received a call early Thursday morning around 3:15 a.m. on August 15th to a residence on Randall Avenue and Southwest 30th Street.

An argument had occurred between a man and woman in the residence and escalated, allegedly the man shot the woman in the head area, she was grazed by the bullet on the side of her face.

According to police the female victim is going to be okay and was transported to a local area hospital for treatment. Police officials stated there were also several other family members inside the residence at the time, including small children. All family members were able to escape the residence without harm.

The man barricaded himself inside the residence and police were attempting to get him to surrender after a standoff lasting more than two hours. Police state they are going to remain outside of the residence until the man surrenders.
