UPDATE – This morning, at around 8:12 a.m., the Kerrville Police Department responded to a call in the 800 block of Water Street I’m regards to a welfare check of a subject that was believe to be asleep on the ground behind the Schreiner One Center.
According to officers, upon arrival, a known homeless man was discovered with serious injuries. At that time, it was determined by KPD that the man was a victim of an aggravated assault.
The victim was transported to Peterson Regional Medical Center before later being airlifted to University Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
At about 12:55 p.m., on the same afternoon, another known homeless man by the name of Alexander Scott Haley was located in Louise Hays Park. According to the officer’s investigation, Haley was allegedly involved in the assault and was arrested for the aggravated assault.
The situation is currently under investigation and KPD is asking anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact KPD Investigator James Machetta at 830-285-1314.
Aggravated Assault is a 2nd-degree felony with punishment with 2 to 20 years in jail with a fine up to $10,000.
KERRVILLE – Early morning on Wednesday, July 10th, a man was discovered with injuries behind the Schreiner One Center.
At this time, it is believed the man was assaulted at, though limited information is available.
The Kerrville Police Department is investigating all possibilities and it is believed the man is possibly part of the Kerrville homeless community.
He was transported to the local area hospital for treatment and his condition is currently unknown at this time.
Speaking with a Kerrville Police Department investigator, he believed the man was allegedly assaulted sometime Tuesday evening.
At this time the man’s name is not being released, the situation is currently under investigation and there is no other information at this time.
