City of Kerrville

Kerrville, Texas — Summer is here, which means it’s a great time to get out and explore the great things happening at your local parks. This July, join in on the fun as we celebrate Park and Recreation Month.

Since 1985, America has celebrated July as Park and Recreation Month, a program of the National Recreation and Park Association.

The goal is to raise awareness of the vital impact that parks and recreation have on communities across the country.

Parks and recreation services are vital for our communities and promote the protection of open space and natural resources for all walks of life.

Park and Recreation Month encourages everyone to reflect on the exponential value parks and recreation brings to communities.

Kerrville Parks and Recreation is celebrating Park and Recreation Month by inviting you to get out and enjoy the many local parks and recreation amenities in our community.

We are offering several exciting activities to celebrate this month, including Movies in the ParkConcerts by the River, and Family Swim Nights at the Olympic Pool, to name just a few. Or you can recreate at your leisure at one of our many parks and facilities.

Kerrville is blessed with great public parks for citizen enjoyment. You can fish, swim in the Guadalupe River or at the Olympic Pool, fly a kite, have a picnic, kayak, play tennis, catch a game at the Kerrville Sports Complex, enjoy a sprayground, enjoy the scenic views of the River Trail, hike or bike the trails at Kerrville-Schreiner Park or Singing Wind Park, and much more.

The activities don’t just stop in July. Later this summer, make plans to attend one of the remaining Movies in the Park, jam out to more Concerts by the River, participate in the Kids Triathlon, or bring your furry friend for a dip in the Olympic pool during the city’s annual Wet N’ Wag.
