City Offices to be closed for 4th of July Holiday

The City of Kerrville municipal offices and the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library will be closed Thursday, July 4, 2019 in observance of the Independence Day Holiday. Municipal offices and the library will resume regular business on Friday, July 5.

All city parks and facilities, including the Olympic Pool, Carver Park Sprayground and the Parks and Recreation office at Kerrville-Schreiner Park, will remain open on Independence Day. However, please be advised that Louise Hays Park will be closed to vehicular traffic on July 4, with the exception of legally marked handicapped vehicles (plates/tags). This closure is in conjunction with the “Robert Earl Keen’s Fourth on the River” event that will take place in the park.

There will be festivities at the “Fourth on the River” event throughout the day, including free concerts, vendors and a large fireworks display. The vendors will open at 2 p.m. and the concerts begin at 4 p.m. Headliner Robert Earl Keen will be followed by the largest fireworks display in the Hill Country at approximately 9:30 p.m., generously sponsored by Mamacitas.

For more information about the event and the concert line up, please visit http://www.robertearlkeens4th.com/.

For additional information about the park or fireworks, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (830) 257-7300, or visit the city’s website at www.kerrvilletx.gov.
