Hit and run suspect shoots at other vehicle after being followed

HARRIS COUNTY — A man is facing several charges after allegedly being involved in a hit and run accident, then firing shots at the victim’s vehicle.

Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Mark Herman said that deputies were called to the 1900 block of the North Sam Houston Parkway in reference to a hit and run car accident Saturday.

The complainant told deputies that he followed the suspect vehicle to the 300 block of Kirkstalll Drive where the suspect retrieved a handgun from another male suspect.

According to Constable Herman, the suspect then fired several shots at the complainant’s vehicle before he flled the scene.

Constable deputies began searching the area and found the suspect vehicle unoccupied in the 200 block of Dominion Park.

“A male, identified as Joshua Rahaim then exited an apartment and claimed ownership of the vehicle,” stated Constable Herman. ” The complainant was able to positively identify him as the suspect who shot at the police.

The suspect, Joshua Rahaim, was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

His total bond was set at $75,000 out of the 178th District Court.
