DALLAS — The Dallas Police Department is searching for two men suspected of stealing over $3,000 of gas from a Shell on Stemmons Freeway.
The theft reportedly took place over the course of three days after two men tampered with a gas station pump.
On September 29 the men paid for $5 worth of fuel inside the station before returning to their pump and prying it open, according to Dallas Morning News.
The two allegedly opened the pump’s front panel and disabled the manual shut off switch before filling up a line of waiting cars.
The gas station owner told WFAA that the thieves returned to the broken pump over the course of the next two days.
Once the owner had discovered the pump had been tampered with $3,550 in fuel had been stolen.
Surveillance footage shows the suspects drove a white Chrysler 300 and a blue Camaro with two white stripes on the trunk.
Dallas Police are urging anyone with information on the two suspects to contact them at 214-671-8066.
