UPDATE — The man who allegedly shot at Midland County Deputies on July 28th, has been arrested according to the Midland County Sheriff’s Office.
Jair Ruiz, 23, was apprehended Saturday at a residence in the 3900 block of South County Road 1200.
He is charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
“Ruiz was arrested and transported to the Midland County Detention Center without incident,” stated a press release.
The Midland County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was assisted by Texas DPS during the apprehension.
UPDATE – The suspect has been identified by Midland County officials as Jair Ruiz.

Authorities are reportedly still searching for Ruiz.
UPDATE – A manhunt has been underway since Sunday evening when a suspect opened fire at deputies with the Midland County Sheriff’s Office.
The scene near South County Road 1175 and East County Road 135 has been cleared by authorities and people are being let back into their homes.
The Sheriff’s Office stated that they are putting a warrant out for the suspect who has been identified after a large manhunt took place with the assistance of MCSO, MPD, DPS, and ECSO.

MIDLAND COUNTY — An active shooter situation has turned into a suspect being barricaded inside of his residence in Midland County.
The shooter was allegedly actively shooting at deputies Sunday evening and the scene is near South County Road 1175 and East County Road 135.
A perimeter has been established at the scene.
